Yesterday I came home after a miserable day at work and saw Liz Ohanesian’s article about the new X Japan video, which had a picture of the werewolf that I helped make - I hadn’t seen it since it was finished and it turned out great!!! IMMD :)

In only 3 days, Ralis and a small team made the actual mold, skin, teeth, eyes, and other details, I put the fur on him, another girl cut and styled the fur, and then Ralis put on the finishing touches. I can’t wait to see the video!

This weekend I worked on a pizza skirt for [tlr]’s project NVR-NDR! Here’s the concept art:

The actual skirt will be vegetarian though ::

delicious pizza toppings...

the beginnings of a pizza skirt, notice the plump crust

I buy stuffed animals at thrift stores to recycle their fur and stuffing...this raccoon already had disgusting, recycled stuffing! bonus :)

I made a costume for Emily of My Velcroe, for the Halloween show at HM157. It was actually really miraculous - I made it in only 3 days, with all recycled fabrics, and only one fitting the night before the show! This was the first time I had made high-waisted shorts, and I’m quite pleased with the results ::

Emily dancing with her Bear
She wanted a 1920’s-esque bathing suit and a jacket with a detachable cape. The cape was already removed by the time I got my camera on the right setting :( I had the striped fabric left over from the Absinthe Faerie show I helped do costumes on. Emily found the fabric for her jacket at a thrift store, it’s a really intricate knit of a bubbly pastel jungle. The jacket is lined with pinstripe fabric that was going to be thrown away at my work. One person’s trash, sucka!

I think she had killed the Bear at this point in the show
Oh yeah, her shirt has a bow tie too! And tails in the back :) So cute!

I did a few rush costumes for a sizzler Matt Bab was making to fund the actual movie. Several occultist robes, some monk robes, and a sacrificial robe. I think it was 11 robes total, done in about a week. Luckily I had a random home-sewing pattern (I hate those) for Star Wars costumes, which included robes that were similar enough to what Matt wanted that I only had to make a few alterations to and reduce the fabric yield a bit.

Monk Robes :: I used black hair spray to age them ever so slightly
