Romak and the Space Pirates played at Wigout in May, so I made tlr a costume for the Sci-Fi theme. It was made out of scraps from other projects (some from dumpsters), a long zipper, and parts from my VCR which was dismantled earlier this year. Then I splattered paint on it, and tlr drew with silver fabric paint. We also made his wig together out of my old dreadlocks (yes, I saved them) and some dumpster fabric, and more parts from the VCR. Chinashop mag wrote about the show, which took place at the stunning Bordello Bar.
Almost immediately after the fashion show, tlr and I drove to San Diego to shoot his band‘s music video for their cover of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up.” Brandon Like shot/edited/directed it, and let the 6 of us stay at his place, which was 2 blocks away from the beach! Here’s the finished video:
